Where restaurants lose money
Most of the cost is hiding in how the check gets closed
Tips settle after the authorization, takeout orders are keyed by hand, and a table of six wants six cards. Each of those is a place where a poorly configured account quietly costs you more.
Tip adjustments downgrade transactions
When the final amount differs from the authorization, a transaction can fall to a worse rate if the batch is not configured for it. This is one of the most common findings in a restaurant statement review.
The card walks away
Taking the card to a back station adds time to every turn and gives guests a reason to worry. A handheld keeps the card in the guest's hand.
Phone and delivery orders are keyed
Card-not-present orders cost more and carry more dispute risk. Pay-by-link moves them to a verified transaction instead of a handwritten number.
Splitting a check is a project
Six cards on one table should take one minute, not five. Split handling belongs in the terminal flow, not in mental arithmetic.
What we set up
From the host stand to the last table of the night
Dine-in, bar tabs, takeout and delivery on one merchant account, integrated with the POS you already run.
Pay-at-table handhelds
Wireless terminals that close a check at the table, print or text a receipt, and take the tip on screen.
Split checks
Split by seat, by item or evenly across cards, without holding up the table or the server's next round.
Tip adjust, configured properly
Tip handling set up so adjusted transactions settle the way they should, plus reporting by server and shift for pooling and payroll.
QR pay & pay links
Guests scan and pay from their phone, and takeout callers get a secure link instead of reading a card number aloud.
POS integration
Connect to the point-of-sale you already run through a PCI-compliant gateway rather than replacing a system your staff knows.
Bar tabs & pre-authorizations
Open a tab on a card, hold the right amount, and close it out cleanly at the end of the night.
Gift cards
Branded gift cards and balance tracking, redeemable across every location you run.
Surcharging & dual pricing
Where your state and the card brands permit it, a compliant program that offsets card fees — set up correctly or not at all.
Why restaurants switch
A payments partner, not a help-desk ticket
Approvals in hours
A short application with minimal paperwork. Most accounts are reviewed and approved the same day, which matters when you have an opening date.
Transparent pricing
Interchange-plus with a fixed markup, and a statement that shows downgrades instead of burying them in a blended rate.
A dedicated rep
A named account manager plus around-the-clock support, because a terminal failing on a Friday night is not a Monday morning problem.
Common questions
What restaurant owners ask us first
Can servers adjust tips after the card is authorized?
Yes, and getting this configured correctly is one of the bigger wins in a restaurant account. When the settled amount differs from the authorized amount, a transaction can downgrade to a more expensive category if the account is not set up for tip adjustment. We check that specifically during the statement review.
Will this work with our current POS?
In most cases, yes. We connect through a PCI-compliant gateway that the major restaurant point-of-sale platforms support, so you keep the system your staff already knows. Tell us what you run and we will confirm the integration before you commit to anything.
Can we add a surcharge to cover card fees?
Sometimes. Surcharging is governed by both state law and card brand rules, and the requirements differ for credit and debit. Some states restrict it outright. We will tell you honestly whether it is available where you operate, and if it is, set it up with the required disclosures and caps. If it is not, we will say so rather than sell you a program that invites a fine.
How do we handle delivery and third-party orders?
Orders you take directly — by phone or your own site — run through your account with pay-by-link or your online checkout, which keeps the cost and the dispute record in your control. Orders that come through a third-party marketplace settle under that platform's terms; we can help you read what they are actually charging you.
